What a weekend for the SVG Motor Sport team at the first round of their Britcar campaign. Mark Lee and Peter Spano both had a great with qualifying going really well. Mark qualifying an impressive third overall and Peter fifth overall and first in class.
Race one started well but an incident put the safety car out which Peter fell foul of on the restart slipping back from the main pack. A really great drive from Andrew Bentley in the GT5 managing to get his car up to ninth overall and second in class. He also managed to get the fastest lap in class. Mark had a monumental battle with some mega fast BMW’s and held on for second overall.
The second race went much the same way for Mark and the pesky BMW drivers, but this time he finished third overall. Peter and Andrew had a solid race finishing seventh overall and second in class but this time only nine seconds behind our class winner.
Overall a great bag of points gained and some valuable race time for both drivers. Looking forward to Snetterton on the 9th of May for rounds three and four.
