The Ginetta G40 Cup Trophy has ten slots on the Britcar grid in 2022. The Trophy is licensed by Ginetta and operated by Andy Johnson at SVG Motorsport. Andy has a wealth of experience in Ginetta racing and running championships. The aim is to attract 25 cars in 2023, enough to have their own grid.
There is an age limit for drivers of 30 years and older, though younger first-time racers can request entry. Ginetta provides parts support at all events.
Having run a Ginetta G40 within the Britcar Trophy in recent years, SVG knew it to be a fantastic platform for drivers to enjoy great racing. SVG aims to create an enjoyable atmosphere in which to go racing. Entrants are encouraged to book the same hotel on Saturday night and enjoy dinners together. It creates a camaraderie that will hopefully lead to close, clean and respectful racing on the track.
The Trophy consists of single-day race events. It is a convenient way to go racing and help reduce the costs for the competitors. Costs are further reduced by competitors only needing one set of tyres per event.
